About The Site
Our Own Little Way is not a funding agency. Here's how Carla, our first beneficiary, explains it:
OurOwnLittleWay is not a funding agency. It is an online method of gathering generous individuals into virtual communities of caring and sharing. If you or your sister have friends, relatives, in-laws, classmates, schoolmates, officemates, org-mates across the street or across the globe, OurOwnLittleWay will tell them that your sister needs help. Everything is voluntary. All donations received are acknowledged and listed for transparency and accountability. It is a non-profit venture and there are no "overhead" expenses that are taken away from donations received. Whatever is raised via the site goes to the beneficiaries. In my experience, high school classmates, college classmates, relatives of my husband and my own --- from all over the globe, sent help when they read about my case in the website. If believe this facility (website) is something you/your sis can can use, just use the contact us form found on www.OurOwnLittleWay.org to get started. It is literally MAKING IT WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM A LOT OF PEOPLE. You will marvel at how God blesses and opens the gates of plenty, if we but knock, seek, ask.
About Me
I've always wanted to give something back to society. On a daily basis, in small ways, we try to. In the back of our minds, we keep on saying "Someday, I'd like to do something more." But we get too preoccupied with work, with family, and the rest of our lives.
And then one day last June 2004, I found out that a friend has breast cancer. So this idea came to mind and is what we Filipinos call bayanihan. It started our with helping Carla. And 2 years later, we did all we can for Jenelyn, who now is at peace with the Lord. Hopefully, in our own little way, we can continue to help others.
I own and operate this site with the help of some volunteers. It is a non-profit venture and there are no "overhead" expenses that are taken away from donations received. Whatever is raised via this site goes to the beneficiaries. We'd like to keep this small and simple. Together with those who are willing to help out, it's just our own little way of giving back.
